Jaclyn + Greg / Wedding

For the past two years in-a-row, we’ve had the pleasure of photographing a Sunday wedding over Memorial Weekend in West Lafayette at Purdue University — how’s that for a coincidence?

Last year it was Laura & Thomas’ wedding, this year it was Jaclyn and Greg’s … so naturally it makes you wonder if luck continues whose will it be next year? Only time will tell …

We photographed Jackie and Greg’s engagement lifestyle session earlier this Spring and learned of their remarkable story: when they met, how they fell in love, and how Greg presented Jackie with this beautiful ring:

They both grew up in the same town in Northern Indiana and attended Elementary, Middle and High School together (though they didn’t actually meet one another until introduced by a mutual friend in middle school):

“After spending a year apart (Greg was a grade above Jackie and went to high school while Jackie was still in middle school), they were reunited once again in High School. With mutual friends, a continued interest in orchestra, and a shared infatuation with the Smashing Pumpkins, they spent the whole week together on Spring Break in Florida. Sparks flew at the Magic Kingdom, amour ensued at Clearwater Beach, and the rest is history.

Then “During the summer of 2007, Greg received an internship with a company in Aachen, Germany. Being the wonderful boyfriend he was, he flew Jackie out for July. The following Spring Break, Jackie intended to reciprocate the favor and took him to Ireland, where Greg had been dreaming of going since [as long as] he could remember. There, at the top of the Cliffs of Moher overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, Greg got down on his knee and presented Jackie with a beautiful Tacori designer ring — not surprisingly, she said YES!

Fast forward a few years and their incredible story continues as you’ll see. The color pink was woven throughout their wedding day, and as you can imagine it’s a color we’re especially fond of!

The girls spent the morning getting ready at Christina & Company Salon in Lafayette and we snapped a few detail shots using some of our favorite backgrounds — the natural surroundings:

Every detail was carefully thought out, right down to the shoes, stationary and flowers:

Jackie’s natural beauty caught our attention during their engagement session, so we “kidnapped” her for a few minutes and were rewarded with some cute and impromptu poses:

After the ceremony at the University Church was over the wedding party was entertained aboard the Purdue Reamer Club’s Boilermaker Special — which gave us some private One-on-One time to capture some intimate moments:

Jackie’s Mom had the brilliant idea of adding some ‘color’ to the underside of her daughter’s wedding dress and we couldn’t agree more:

Without a doubt the Bridal Party knew how to put the word ‘party’ in the saying, but you’d never guess from the innocent look the Bridesmaids’ gave us:

See, I told you so:

DJ Dan McKay kept the party rocking all night long by mixing up some great music and allowed us to capture this fabulous moment — photographed from two differing views — at the end of their first dance:

The celebration continued on into the night, fueled by the item every Bride & Group should have: a Signature Drink for their guests:

‘The Grackie’ = Champagne + Grenadine + Orange Juice + Ginger Ale.

It was a truly great day, full of love, laughter and joy. Thank you, Jackie and Greg, for allowing us to share your incredible day with you!
